Last fall I did an illustration titled Weirdo, my reinterpretation of a 70's underground comic by R. Crumb. That piece never made it to paper as a screen print, so I thought it would be fun to re-work the character and turn it into more of a self portrait art print. The title, Microcosmos, was inspired by a french nature documentary I watched while sketching ideas for this piece. Filming the world of bugs at a micro view with no real narration, Microcosmos is beautiful, surreal and immersing. Of course, the idea of a smaller world within a larger snuck it's way in and I had a blast hiding tons of little details in this piece. Hopefully this will make it to paper soon!
